The City Cemetery, located at 3000 Cemetery Street on the southwest edge of Downtown Kennesaw, sits on the historic grounds of Camp McDonald, a former Civil War training site for Georgia volunteers. Owned and operated by the City of Kennesaw, the non-sectarian cemetery has served as the final resting place for area residents since 1863. Spanning 8 acres, the cemetery offers well-maintained grounds that provide a peaceful setting for visitors to remember their loved ones.
The City Cemetery offers several burial options, including single, companion and family plots, ground interment of cremains and a Cremation Garden for scattering ashes. This garden serves as a “living monument” where individuals are memorialized with a plaque on the garden wall. For pricing information, please refer to the Fee Schedule or contact the City Clerk for assistance in purchasing a plot.
For those seeking specific grave sites or available lots, an online burial search is available at www.kennesaw.ga.govern.com. The cemetery operates under Chapter 30 of the City of Kennesaw Code of Ordinance, which provides guidelines and regulations for its operation.
