Learn More about the trove of 2,000-year-old Cherokee artifacts unearthed in 1995 when construction began for a new Walmart in Canton, Ga. Archeologist Paul Webb will Describe the discovery and recovery of these archaeological materials and their significance to Cherokee County’s past.
About the Speaker:
Paul Webb is the Cultural Resources Program Leader at TRC Environmental Corporation and is based out of Ashville, N.C. He has over forty years of experience in the archaeology of the Southern Appalachians. He grew up in Rome, G.A., and attended school in Athens, G.A. In 1995, he directed excavations at the Hickory Log site on the Etowah River just above Canton.
