Kennesaw, GA (March 28, 2025) — The Kennesaw Downtown Development Authority and the Kennesaw Downtown Merchants Association are excited to bring back the First Friday Concert Series, a community favorite now in its fifth year. From April through October (excluding July), Downtown Kennesaw comes alive on the first Friday of each month with live music, local brews and delicious eats from 7 to 9 p.m. Set against the charming backdrop of the Main Street Plaza, each concert offers the perfect way to unwind, connect and kick off the weekend in the heart of the city.
2025 First Friday Concert Lineup:
April 4 – Alex Cavanaugh
Singer-songwriter Alex Cavanaugh blends country storytelling with an urban rock edge. Classically trained in piano from a young age, the New York native picked up the guitar at 14 and began writing songs at 16. Influenced by artists such as Black Stone Cherry, the Foo Fighters and Eric Church, Cavanaugh recently released his debut album, Rise Above.
May 2 – Rich Brock (Comedian)
Known for his clean, high-energy comedy, Rich Brock—also known as “Big Rich”—brings humor rooted in storytelling and life experience. A former pastor from small-town Georgia, Brock shares witty takes on marriage, parenting, career changes and dating in his 50s, all delivered with warmth and laughter.
June 6 – Layne Denton
North Georgia singer-songwriter Layne Denton delivers a soulful mix of blues and folk, showcasing a distinctive voice and a talent for heartfelt songwriting. His performances blend smooth melodies with a rich acoustic sound.
August 1 – 96K
96K is known for their energetic performances that blend pop, rock and soul. With a lineup of talented musicians and vocalists, the band creates a dynamic and engaging atmosphere, providing an unforgettable live music experience.
September 5 – Groove Daddies
Fusing blues, rock and classic hits, the Groove Daddies bring a dynamic energy to every performance. Led by vocalist Chris Wiggins and featuring guitarist Matt Alexander, their setlist includes favorites from Stevie Ray Vaughan, the Stray Cats and Eric Clapton.
October 3 – G Clef and the Playlist
From Motown to modern hits, G Clef and the Playlist deliver a diverse mix of pop, rock, R&B and hip-hop. Their energetic performances feature everything from Prince and Earth, Wind & Fire to Hall & Oates and Metallica, promising a night of non-stop entertainment.
